A FIRST WORLD WAR MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO ERNEST HAMILTON OF THE HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT. A Great War Memorial plaque named to Ernest Hamilton, with indistinct scratched writing to the reverse including the numbers 8104. The Commonwealth War Graves site offers four possibilities for this name. Pt 18104 Ernest Hamilton of the 2nd Battalion the Hampshire Regiment seems the most likely given the information on the reverse. He died on the 18th October 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
