A good .56" Tower percussion Sea Service belt pistol, 11½" overall, barrel 6" with Tower proofs and ordnance inspector's marks, with button fore sight and rearsight on the breech tang; the lock having double line border and engraved with crowned "VR" and "1855" over "Tower"; walnut fullstock bearing inspector's marks, traces of broad arrow and "B.O" and name "Johnson"; regulation pattern brass mounts, the butt cap with swivel lanyard ring, and with swivel ramrod and 5½" steel belt hook.
