GEORGE II OAK LONGCASE CLOCK SIGNED MORISON & BLACK, PEEBLES, the 12” painted Roman dial with subsidiary date and second dials to the signed centre, enclosed by floral spandrels and set beneath an arch painted with a bird and fruit, powered by an eight day movement striking on a bell and housed in a case with broken swan neck pediment and brass capped free standing columns to the fore corners, set over a trunk door with arched top, flanked by quarter columns to the fore corners, and raised on a plain base with shaped plinth, 80” (203cm) high C/R-dial re-painted and hands possibly later, joint split to the cresting, runs right across, hood door loose, screw missing from the lower hinge, glass missing to the left side of the hood, oak pieces above and below the trunk door have been touched in-possibly later, 5 splits to the front of the base, 2 run full length
