A smokebox numberplate, 62006, from a Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 26610, and which entered traffic at Darlington in June 1949. Its later sheds were Blaydon, Gateshead, Heaton, Alnmouth (for working the Alnwick branch) and Sunderland from where it was withdrawn on 4 September 1966 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckow at Blyth.
