EARLY BRITISH OCCUPATION - TO THE ISLE OF MULL EX THE HERO OF THE CAPTURE OF REUNION: 1 Jan. 1812 EL from "Isle of France" (written by Archibald McLean who had played a heroic part in the July 1810 Capture of Reunion, being mentioned in dispatches and severely wounded) to his father at "Lagan, Ulva, by Oban and Auchnacraig, Isle of Mull" endorsed "To be forwarded by the first opportunity" and "favored by Lieut. L. Macquarie, 86th Regt.", carried to Plymouth and posted there (faint overstruck mileage cds on the front) charged "1/2" with part Glasgow transit cds (21 May?).
