The Boxster is Porsche's first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder. The first-generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996, it was powered by a 2.5-litre flat six-cylinder engine. The design was heavily influenced by the 1992 Boxster Concept. In 2000, the base model was upgraded to a 2.7-litre engine and the new Boxster S variant was introduced with a 3.2-litre engine. In 2003, styling and engine output was upgraded on both variants.

2001 Boxster 3.2 S - when Porsche finally took the Boxster seriously. Rare 'Rainforest Green' metallic with Turbo style wheels and black leather seats and trim. One owner from new. Always garaged, and this shows in its overall stunning visuals and sound mechanical condition. 140,000 miles with full service and maintenance history plus supporting documentation.

The hood has been replaced with upgraded skin and heated glass screen (2004 spec replacing plastic screen). Additional maintenance includes front suspension replacement struts plus bushes all round, air con pump/condensers/pipework, an uprated water pump, replacement clutch assembly, uprated coolant expansion tank/pipework, replacement drive shaft gaiters, and replacement power steering hoses. Other expected maintenance includes replacement of discs/pads, handbrake shoes, thermostat, alternator, and engine drive belt.

The eye catching registration number, which cost £1,200 in 2001, is included in the sale.

Still one of the best point-to-point cars you'll experience, with its exceptional mid-engined driving dynamics and 6 cylinder 'boxer' soundtrack.
