A nameplate, QUEEN MAUD, from the LMS Princess Royal Class 8P 4-6-2 No 6211, BR 46211, built at Crewe and named when built after the second daughter of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra and wife of King Haakon VII of Norway. Allocated new to Crewe North on 18 September 1935 where it spent most of its working life apart from short spells at Camden and Edge Hill. Withdrawn from Crewe North on 6 October 1961, it was cut up at Crewe Works by 13 April 1962. Cast brass, length 34¼", the front repainted but unpolished. (Postage Band: N/A)
