Two unusual matching European writing desk boxes inset with bronze plaques, late 19th/early 20th century. Both of book form with hinged covers inset with plaques cast in relief depicting woodland scenes, one with an eagle catching a fish and the other gaming birds, both enclosed within a carved floral trefoil border. One box with a writing slope and the other with an internal storage compartment. (2 items) 12.6 in (32 cm) height, 11 in (28 cm) width.
Condition report: Some surface wear with age predominately to the raised areas of the plaques.
