* Thornley used a number of pseudonyms, including Hubert Thornley, William Thornbury/Thornbery and Charles Thorneley. The middle name `Anson` was included occasionally but this signature clearly ends `..nnison`. The technique, palette and subject matter are all consistent with Thornley's work.
