RARE 2-RING "GLENCARRADLE/TARBERT" GUARANTEED POST MARK (IN GREEN) ON COVER WITH 1d IMPERF; 2 Sept. 1846 env. to Edinburgh with a 1d Red (2m; crease) tied by the "321" Tarbert numeral but also having a mainly very fine green distinctive 2-ring "GLENCARRADLE/TARBERT" UDC of the Guaranteed Post to Tayinloan (faint green mileage-removed mark on flap), also having the green boxed "TARBERT" ds and Edinr. arrival cds (3 Sept.) on the back. Plus a small piece with a mainly fine strike of the same 2-ring mark in darker green. Auckland/Stables only recorded this mark from 19 Nov. 1845 to "1846". Very few covers known, and this is one of the finest of the few extant examples. (1 cover + 1 piece)
