A nameplate, SHANKLIN, from the London & South Western Railway O2 Class 0-4-4T No 211 built at Nine Elms Works in March 1892. It retained this number in SR days and was despatched to the Isle of Wight in May 1923 when it was renumbered W20 and named after the seaside town on the island. It was withdrawn on 31 December 1966 and cut up by Jolliffe at Freshwater. Cast brass, length 34", the front lightly polished, the paintwork probably the original. We sold the other side in February 2021. This plate is being sold on behalf of the Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society, the owners and operators of Clan Line.
