'The Cornwall Protestation Returns 1641,' by T. L. Stoate, 1974. T. L. Stoate (from a transcript by R. M. Glencross) revised and with additional parishes transcribed by H. L. Douch. 'The Cornwall Protestation Returns 1641,' first edition, in original blue binding with gilt lettering to spine and front cover, published by T. L. Stoate, Almondsbury, 1974. About the year 1914 R. M. Glencross a genealogist of Cornish descent set out to transcribe The Cornwall Protestation Returns. He never completed them with 60 parishes missing from the transcript in 1941 he gave to the Society of Genealogists. The transcript was lent to Stoate for the preparation of this work for the society. H. L. Douch (curator of the R.I.C.) most generously undertook to transcribe the missing parishes and also to check and where necessary revise the whole of The Glencross Transcript. This was a massive undertaking however, very valuable in view of his extensive knowledge of cornish surnames and place names, a fine copy.
