The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of S-Class cars manufactured between 1979 and 1992. Premiering in September 1979 as the successor to the W116 line, the W126 was the second generation to officially bear that prestigious designation, an abbreviation for the German Sonderklasse or "special class." It introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, including the first seatbelt pretensioners. The W126 was initially offered with straight-six, V8, and a turbocharged diesel engine for the sedan. A C126 2-door coupé versions was introduced in September 1981. The W126's production run between 1979 and 1991 was the longest of any S-Class generation since the first "S" designated top-class models were built in the mid-1950s.
This 300 SE is described as being in original and immaculate condition, with only two former owners. The previous owner was Mrs Edwards of Romford who acquired the car in September of 1997. The first owner was a doctor in Romford who bought the car new from Mercedes in Romford. The car comes with all the original Mercedes documentation complete.
The interior is full leather and is said to be perfect, although the upholstery in the front near-side door panel creaks over bumps. There is slight scuffing on bumper corners and a small dent on the chrome bonnet surround.
The vendor states that the car has had no faults during his ownership. It was last serviced in November 2017, where on inspection the Mercedes-Benz agent said the front discs were worn but would pass the MOT, but the vendor had new discs and pads fitted anyway.
