A mid 18c eight day longcase clock by Jonah Walker of London, the 30cm brass arched dial having urn spandrels, date and seconds indicators, and a rocking Father Time in the arch. The chapter ring has Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers. The movement has five ringed pillars and has anchor escapement and rack striking. It is now contained in an oak and mahogany case designed for a 33cm dial. The hood has swan neck pediments and there are freestanding fluted columns flanking the dial. The trunk door has a wavy top and the trunk corners are canted and fluted. The base has an applied rectangular panel and a solid skirting. The clock stands 219cm tall overall.
The mask in the hood has been replaced to accommodate the smaller dial. The case has some splitting to the back panel but is otherwise good. The dial is in good condition with some slight tarnishing of the silvering at 12. The movement seems compete and reasonably clean.
