A French 22 bore rifled flintlock pistol, by “Le Clerk a Paris”, c 1800, 11” overall, slightly swamped sighted octagonal barrel 5½” with fine multi groove rifling; signed flat lock with swan neck cock and semi rainproof pan; dark walnut fullstock, the butt with chequered panels inset with silver pique studs; the steel mounts include trigger guard engraved with a stag and having elaborate finial, octagonal butt cap engraved with a classical bust, and side plate in the form of two recumbent lions; with ivory tipped wooden ramrod.
