with a brass makers plate of "Thomas Butler of Catherine Street, Strand, London", with brass mounts throughout, the carved and moulded cornice supported on four slender baluster posts with bergere head and foot boards, on ring-turned tapering legs ending in brass toe caps and castors, 198cm long x 208cm high x 120cm wide
Provenance: With a brass plate inscribed "MBM"suggesting that this bed belonged to Mervyn Bradford Medlycott, who used it on board ship when he served in the Royal Navy in the 1870's.Note: Thomas Butler of Catherine Street, Strand, London, is recorded in Trade Directories of the period as operating from this address between 1805 and 1809.
