Badge. 31st Foot (Huntingdonshire) William IV/Victorian Officer’s shoulder belt plate circa 1830-47. Fine scarce gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver crowned laurel sprays, with finely seeded XXXI to centre, resting on tableau of honours TALVERA/ALBUHERA/VITTORIA/PYRENEES NIVELLE/NIVE PENINSULA with fasces beneath. Two hooks and two studs. VGC Became 1st Bn East Surrey Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881 whilst commanded by Thomas Eaton Swettenham.
