1815 Waterloo Medal to Serj Gavin Calderhead 3rd Bat 1st Foot or R. Scots, replacement clip and ring, contact marks, thus fine. The 3rd/1st Foot experienced some of the bitterest fighting at both Quatre Bras and Waterloo serving with Picton's 5th Division and suffered 218 casualties at Quatre Bras and 144 at Waterloo. With typed muster extracts, research and copied pension book, he was born in Carluck, Lanark, enlisted in 4th Bn from Lanarkshire Militia 28/8/07, transferred to 3rd Bn 19/2/10, promoted Sgt 11/10/11, would have almost certainly served in Peninsula with 3rd Bn 1810-14 who were heavily involved at Badajoz, Salamanca and San Sebastian, also served 8 years in India, admitted to RHC with a pension of 1/10d per day, still being paid in 1838.
