£460
A very scarce Crimean period Guards officer's bearskin cap, the lack of provision for a hackle plume suggests that it is Scots Fusilier Guards, brass tapered chin chain possibly a later addition, black leather lining, velvet edging (worn), (an attached note shows the bearskin pelt is attached to a leather cap and not mounted on a frame of willow or rattan, one such mounted is in the Guards Museum London), the fur in very good condition. £500-700
