THOMAS HODGE (b.1827-d.1907) - Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrews Personality - head and shoulder watercolour portrait titled "The Editor" and in Hodges handwriting below John Blackwood c1880. The Blackwood lived at Strath Dereham woods St Andrews the best-known publishing adventure being the magazine carrying their name. John was Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in 1871. As a golfer Horace Hutchinson recalled "he putted in a style which was contorted almost to the point of anguish……" c/w full typed details below - 5.25 x 3.5" mf&g 15.25 x 11.25".
