A Theodolite precision optical survey instrument, 19th/early 20th century. Modelled in cold painted black brass throughout with polished brass adjusters and measures including spirit levels. Struck ‘H.O. (Government broad arrow mark) 59’ in several places. 14 in (35.3 cm) length, 7.7 in (19.5 cm) height. Condition report: Wear to the black brass sections and slightly bent holding clamp. Although the theodolite appears to have working elements, Bentley’s cannot guarantee the full working order of the instrument.
