Quinta do Vallado Touriga Nacional 2012 x6 - 750ml bottle(s)
Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest and most famous “Quintas” in the Douro region. This eighteenth-century Douro wine estate is actually one of the most modern-looking in Portugal. The winery lies on both banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River, close to the town of Peso da Régua. The grapes were vinified in the new winery in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, each holding a maximum of 4 tons of grapes, with manual remontage. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in their original storage stainless steel tanks and was then racked into 225l French oak barriques where it stayed for 16 months.
"One of a pair of single-varietal wines produced at Vallado, this displays all the perfumed, tannic character of Portugal's almost-national grape variety. It's packed with structure, dark berry fruits and a dry core that's firm. The acidity and the violet perfumes are enticing now, although it is going to age well. Drink ideally from 2018." 91/100 Wine Enthusiast
