A Yorkshire saltglazed brown stoneware bell-ringer's or other presentation jug, Eccleshill Pottery, Bradford, dated 1861, sprigged with a mounted horseman, hunt servants and hounds, lions and serpents, flowers and the emblematic foliage of the United Kingdom bordered by trailing grapevines, the greyhound handle pierced with hole for suspension  

A similarly fine Eccleshill jug with the same distinctive 'steps' beneath the neck and at least one matching sprig, in Keighley Museum is illustrated Oswald (A), R J C Hildyard & R G Hughes - English Brown Stoneware 1670-1900, fig. 164
