1962 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 8xxx3; Body: sunburst finish with various imperfections as consistent for the age, four small repaired holes to the back (left over from a Perspex plate that was used to protect the finish), unusual areas of refinish on the body between the neck plate and neck as well as a dark area in the arm position which can be seen under UV light (possibly related to repair the holes on the back of the body); Neck: maple, light wear, October '62 date stamp; Fretboard: rosewood; Frets: good, Fender factory re-fret; Electrics: working, appear original, '62 potentiometer date stamps; Hardware: good; Case: original Selmer hard case; Weight: 3.49kg; Overall condition: good for age

*Formerly owned by Mark Griffiths, best known as the most recent bassist for The Shadows. Purchased new by Mark's father from Selmer, Charing Cross Road, London in 1962/63. Mark had the guitar re-fretted at the Fender factory in Fullerton in the 1980s which was overseen by the late Dan Smith
