'Blitzkrieg', F. O. Miksche (1942). Sent by the author, Ferdinand Otto Miksche, to General Heinz Guderian, a WWII Second World War German general and pioneer of the 'Blitzkrieg' approach. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler appointed Guderian as Inspector General to the Armoured Forces in 1943 during the Third Reich. He surrendered to U.S. forces in May 1945, and became a memoirist following the war. Ferdinand Otto Miksche (1904-1992) was a Czech Captain and military historian, awarded the Medal of Freedom and Order of the Colonial Empire, and the author of a number of works on European military history.
Guderian annotated this work in 1949: featuring his annotations in German to the margins, as well as a dedication in German, his signature and date to the front free endpaper. Fourth impression, Faber and Faber Limited, complete in worn dust wrapper with loss to the edges and extremities and tape repairs to the spine, which has some loss.
An unusual piece of military history regarding Second World War tactics.
