1917 Letter from Rochdale Association Football Club Ltd to R Roberts and handwritten by J Lomax Secretary to Rochdale AFC; the text, in part states “We have selected you to play left full back on Saturday next against Manchester United on our ground Spotland kick off 3.30pm, please bring your own boots", signed by J Lomas Rochdale secretary; dated 13 March 1917; the letter has been folded and has clear tape (browning in time) to the folds/edges.
