Pair of Undertaker Label Plaques and a pair of coffin nails. A pair of oval Edwardian gilt metal embossed coffin plaques, advertising Goulding & Son of Romsey, Hampshire – Builders & Undertakers.
These are dead stock plaques that had been produced with the intention to fit to coffins.
Coffin nails are a type of nail flat forged on an anvil with a rectangular cross section as opposed to the machine drawn cylindrical cross section of modern nails. Coffin nails are alleged to increase the potency of spells - especially curses.
