Charles I (1625-1649), AR Sixpence, Briot’s Second Milled issue. Tower (London) mint under Briot; mm: anchor - 1638-1639. Crowned, draped bust left; VI to right, rev . Cross fourchée over royal arms, 2.92gm. (Brooker 732 (same dies); N 2306; S 2860). Nearly Extremely Fine, area of weakness but very nicely toned with golden iridescence. Ex. Baldwin’s, shop ticket c 1920s in AHB’s own hand, priced at 12/6.
