Whilst it is not possible to confirm the sitter with certainty, Louisa Newnham, daughter of Judge George LewisNewnham, is a likely candidate owing to the fashion being worn which dates to around 1820. Louisa married Sir Thomas Crosse Legh in 1812. The sitter is depicted resting on Lot 320. Measurements do not include the frame unless specified.
