WWII RAF RETURNED TO SENDER MAIL: Small group of covers to or from GB with a variety of RTS marks, inc. 1946 env. ex Swinton with purple boxed "UNDELIVERED FOR REASON STATED/RETURN TO SENDER" and "RETURN TO SENDER" & "NO RECORD OF ADDRESSEE AT/RCAF SECTION, C.O.P.S./AS SERVING WITH RCAF O/S" hs's on front; 1945 env. ex F.P.O. 190 with various censor cachets applied, with return reason "LEFT 2 CON DEP" applied in purple ink block letter ms; 194[?] env. ex Cairo with purple "RETURN TO SENDER/UNIT DISBANDED" hs; also 1935 env. to London ex Baghdad with ms "Please forward" at top left in ink, address crossed out and boxed purple "RETOUR" and red "CANNOT IDENTIFY AS DESCRIBED." hs's applied to front, with blue boxed "INCONNU" hs on reverse along with large circular "AIR MINISTRY - PERSONAL LETTER SECTION" ds's (2) and a number of recieving marks from London (2) and "D.L.O./BAGHDAD" (2); plus other examples.
