The author's best known novel, the story of a 14-year-old girl named Velvet Brown, who trains and rides her horse, named The Piebald, to victory in the Grand National steeplechase. Adapted into a highly successful 1944 film of the same name starring a young Elizabeth Taylor. Scarce
