A very good, c.1830’s Chinese black and gold lacquered brisé fan, the gold particularly heavily applied, with a central cartouche of people and buildings, surrounded by birds and creatures, flowers and leaves, the guards with unusual designs of columns and symbols, the gorge with vine leaves, each rounded tip (19 sticks and two guards) containing a figure and building, guard length approx. 20cm
