EARLY 19th CENTURY BONE-CLAD SOFTWOOD BOX OF SARCOPHAGUS FORM, the hinge lid with oblong top and canted sides, the whole clad with intricately pierced bone panels, the canted front of the lid with initials 'SS' and date 1827, the simple inscribed and stained decoration includes a band of fish, all raised on plain bracket feet, 9in (22.9cm) wide x 6in (15.2cm) x 5in (12.7cm) high, (some losses; hinge lid required re-attaching to the simple hinge tabs)
