AN 18TH CENTURY DUTCH BRASS AND COPPER RECTANGULAR SNUFF BOX AND COVER engraved with erotic scenes within landscapes, the central body with a dutch inscription, the base decorated with other erotic scenes. 14 cm x 7 cm. Note: The tobacco boxes were made in the first half and in middle of the 18th century. By that time, smoking tobacco in European courts had already become less popular than snuff, which was usually stored in small, luxuriously decorated boxes made of expensive materials.
