A FINE FIRST WORLD WAR BADEN AND HESSIAN CAVALRY OFFICER'S SPECIAL PATTERN SWORD AND SCABBARD. With a 77cm pipe backed nickel-plated blade with spear point, makers mark of a Knight's Head to the ricasso, also marked W. Clauberg, Solingen. With wire bound fish skin grip, decorative pierced guard with scrolling 'acanthus' type pattern, stepped oval pommel and unusual Baden/Hessen sword knot in silver bullion with red base and red chevrons. The steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 95cm overall *Condition: Blade in good condition, scabbard with some scuffing and one small dent.
