OLDE VICTORIAN STAMP ALBUM - PHILATELIC HISTORY! A truly unique, original collection of stamps pasted alongside old illustrations, early photographs, embossed envelope crests and other Victorian ephemera. A gloriously colourful item in a small black / gold embossed 'ALBUM' which is totally filled with stamps and other items. The stamps run from the GB 1840 1d black & 2d blue to perhaps the mid-1870's making this one of the earliest intact stamp albums from before the time of albums printed solely for stamps and before stamp hinges - it's a piece of our history! The stamps from GB, Br Empire and overseas include many 'classics' and highly catalogued items such as France 1fr Ceres imperf, Danish, Iceland & Norwegian skilling values, Western Australia 1d black imperf, German & Italian states, USA, Hawaii and so much else including locals, forgeries, etc. Condition, like the album is mixed with many faults - but we love it - inspect!
