A Victorian cast iron Bull Dog Bank mechanical money bank attributed to J. & E. Stevens Co., Connecticut, USA, the bulldog with glass eyes seated on a rectangular box, with removable coin trap beneath and impressed 'Patd. Apr. 22. 1880', with sprung action activated by the tail, the head retracting and coin falling into the mouth, 7½in. (19cm.) high. *Lacks one glass eye. Heavy paint loss throughout, with only partial paint remaining. Some surface rust to base and raised edges. Action working well. Four felt pads glued to base.
