A GEORGE V 1897 PATTERN SWORD AND SCABBARD. An 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers sword with an 83cm pointed unsharpened blade with etched decoration, marked for J.R. Gaunt & Son Ltd. late Edward Thurkle, London and Birmingham, numbered 17948 to the back, with a three-quarter basket hilt with turned down inner edge and pierced scrolling decoration. With dress scabbard and remnants of service scabbard and sword knot. 101cm overall. *CR Blade with patches of light rust towards handle, service scabbard heavily distressed.
