A US Civil War period .45” RF (?) Peabody underlever single shot carbine, barrel 21”, the frame stamped “PEABODY’S PAT./ JULY 22. 1862/ MANFD. BY/ PROVIDENCE TOOL CO/ PROV. R.I”, unmarked back action lock, walnut halfstock with steel mounts. WO & basically GC (appears to have been restocked, possibly using an old rifle stock, during its working life). £200-250.
