An 1848 pattern wooden cavalry lance, 109" (9'1") overall, with long flattened diamond section head, the socket with ordnance inspector's mark and "ENFIELD 1848", GC (light rust to head and shoe, some wear). This is the type of lance carried by the 17th Lancers in the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava. £100-150
