A FINE GOTHIC POLYCHROMED WALNUT FIGURE OF THE PRAYING VIRGIN Upper Rhine/Burgundy, circa 1480-1500, with serene expression, the face and drapery retaining much of the original polychrome and gilt, the finely carved hair cascading down the shoulders, 89cm high excluding the later octagonal plinth base, 95cm high overall
