H.R.H. Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood (1897-1965, only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary) - Various letters from the 1930s addressed to her son Gerald Lascelles: dated December 11th 1935 including 'On Sunday I lunched with Uncle George and Aunt Marina [Duke and Duchess of Kent]...and Cousin Eva (the Queen of Spain) came to tea....and had tea with Grand Papa and Grannie [King George V and Queen Mary]...today I had tea with Uncle Bertie and Aunt Elizabeth [King George VI and the Queen Mother]..'; dated November 13th 1935 including 'Last Thursday and Friday Grannie [Queen Mary] and I went to do the Guild unpacking at the Imperial Institute. My numbers are up this year, I sent 3348 garments.'; dated October 1934 including 'What fun you must have had going down a fire shute. I remember doing it when I was about your age in Scotland for practice with Uncles David and Bertie [Duke of Windsor and King George VI], we thought it great fun.'; dated June 1937 '...to stay with Mr and Mrs Lionel Rothschild ...In the afternoon we went in Mr Rothschild's steam yacht ""Rhodora"" (1000 tons) and went in the Solent as far as the Needles'; and an envelope with 1936 1.5D red brown postage stamp of Edward VIII, containing letter dated April 8th 1938.
