1840/1915 substantial collection in printed Ideal album, with Part One for the Commonwealth countries, followed by Part Two for foreign territories. The earlier material tends to be used, with later mint, typically including better items. We note Antigua with 1903 to 5/- and 1913 5/-, Bahamas incl 1884 £1, Barbados, Bechuanaland incl 1912 to 5/-, Solomon Islands with 1907 set (used, 2½d and 1/- mint) plus 1908 and 1914 to 10/-, Somaliland 1903 to 5r, 1904 1r to 5r and 1912 to 5r. Useful Canada, strong Caymans with 1907 to 5/-, surch ½d on 5/- and 1907 set ovpt Specimen, Cyprus, Dominica incl 1903 to 5/-, KUT 1912 2r to 10r (4r used), Falklands incl 1891 to 1/-, 1898 5/- (used), 1904 3/- (used) and 1912 to 5/-. Fiji incl 1912 £1 mint and used, Gambia with 1902 and 1912 sets, mint and used QV Gibraltar plus 1903 4/- mint, Gold Coast incl 1913 10/- and £1, Grenada, Hong Kong with used QV, decent India and Jamaica, Malta, Morocco Agencies and Northern Nigeria incl 1902 and 1910 to 10/-, 1912 to £1. Nyasaland with 1891 to 5/- (ex 3/-) and 1908 to 10/-, Rhodesia with mostly used ‘Arms’, 1905 Falls set (5/- mint) with a few ‘Double Heads’ incl £1, St. Vincent, Sierra Leone incl 1903 £1 mint and used, Straits and Zanzibar incl 1899 and 1908 to 5r. In Part Two, the foreign countries are predominantly used (although there is mint to be found throughout), with substantial ranges from Austria, Belgium (noted mint 1915 to 10f incl ‘Franken’ and the 1911 Exhibition o/pt sets), Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and USA. Latin America throughout, particularly Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, with useful ranges from smaller and less commonly seen territories. Of these we note French Cols, Belgian Congo, Eritrea, Haiti and Thailand, Monaco incl 1885 to 1f and 1891 to 5f, German Cols incl China 1905 to 5m and SWA 1897 set without hyphen used etc. Although the collection would benefit from a little tidying up, it is, without doubt, a wonderful old original collection and represents excellent value
