A sapphire and diamond dress ring, featuring a centrally carved cushion-cut sapphire of 13.6 x 9.5 mm, superimposed with a cluster of old-cut diamonds, to a later mount with foliate shoulders encrusted with rose-cut diamonds, to a tapering shank with beaded details, metal testing as 18ct, size P, in a S.J.Phillips case, 4.8 grams. The sapphire possibly from the 18th century, consists of dye in the side drill holes, the stone is secured by the diamond cluster element.
