QV POSTAL HISTORY: Two binders with a representative collection of primarily QV period cards & covers, but also a few earlier items. Includes four 18th C. covers, two of these with Bishop marks, a few pre-stamp covers inc. examples of 'cross-writing', 1863 & 1874 Stamped to Order 1½d brown & 2d blue envs., pair of 1d pink envs. optd. "SPECIMEN" and 1864 1d pink printed env. used, 1880 EL London to Bordeaux franked with 2 x 2½d rose, 1882-99 1½d brown letter card unused, 1841 letter detailing estimate (£95) for building a Coach, trio of used 1d pink envs. inc. one cancelled by "1" in MX and another by Liverpool 'spoon'. Also a range of used & unused Postal Stationery plus a number of 1d lilac frankings; mail to overseas inc. 1900 Regd. letter to Germany with 2/8d franking, pair of covers to NY each with 2½d Jubilee types having Hoster cancels. Collection is presented on display pages and mostly fine throughout. (c.71 items)
