Order of Glory by order of the 95th Rifle Division nr. 049/N of August 16, 1945. 'On 20th April 1945 during the fighting for the two of Markendorf, comrade Katsion picked a favourable firing position for his machine gun under heavy artillery and mortar fire. Firing with great precision, he suppressed two enemy heavy machine guns and killed seven Germans. Even though he was wounded, he did not abandon the battlefield until the battle was over.' Sergeant Mikhail Petrovich Katsion was born in 1926 in the Kiev Province. He joined the Red Army in September 1943 and served on the Belorussian Front from October 1944.
