A late 18c eight day longcase clock, the 33cm arched painted dial unsigned and having date and seconds dials and moon phase dial in the arch. The dial corners are painted blue wit gilt scrolls and stars and the dial has Roman numerals with outer five minute markers. The hands are of unmatched steel, and the four pillar movement has anchor escapement and is rack striking on a bell. It is contained in a mahogany case with swan neck pediments to the hood. Beneath them is a band of dentil moulding and the free standing hood columns are fluted with Corinthian capitals. The long trunk door is of well figured mahogany and has a wavy top. The trunk corners are canted and the plain base has a plain skirting (part detached). The clock stands 226cm tall overall.
The glass to the hood door is cracked and needs replacing . One swan neck has some damage and two sides of the plinth are missing (1 detached, 1 missing) The dial is in quite good condition. the movement seems complete and fairly clean.
