An 18th century Peruvian Huamanga stone carving from Ayacucho Peru. The figure in the form of an Alpaca proudly stood over a recumbent Lion. Hand-painted detailing throughout with a paper label to the base, believed to read "From the Cordillera (mountain ranges) of Peru , sculpted by Indians from stone of Guamaranza". Together with a small Egyptian carved stone hare pendant.
