We have fully assessed this synth here at Soundgas, including cleaning all the controls so we could test it fully. The conclusion is that it needs a couple of faults fixing, but nothing too serious.

We have added shots of the programmer cards and the individual SEM boards. One thing to note is that three of the SEMs have one VCO which has a replacement temperature compensating resistor which will not function correctly. We have original replacements which can be fitted if we service the synth for the buyer.

The other issue is that card for voice 1 has a fault with the envelopes. As can be seen, unlike the other programmer card for voices 3 & 4, this card has had a lot of work in the past and the issue is either due to a faulty part or an issue with the work done. The good news is that we have established that the fault is NOT with the custom ICs (these are extremely hard to come by) - this was done by swapping the ICs and the fault stayed on the card. It’s most likely a problem with the demultiplexers, sample and hold capacitors or a buffer amp, all of which can be dealt with by someone experienced with these instruments.
