A PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY TRAPEZOID BRASS ANDIRONS, CIRCA 1800. Each with a stem topped by a prominent reeded-pointed finial, and a large ball knop flanked by smaller ball knops, on a triform concave sided platform base, with a ball finial to each corner, atop cast lion paw feet, 90cm high 41cm wide Providence - Littlecote House, Wiltshire. Reputedly these andirons appear in the 1929 inventory. Purchased directly from Seton Wills bt., prior to the Sotheby's House sale of 1985.
